Mario Draghi

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said this Thursday, during a visit to Irpin, on the outskirts of Kiev, that “everything will be rebuilt” in Ukraine, a country invaded by Russian forces.

“We are going to rebuild everything”, guaranteed the Italian prime minister.

The Russians “destroyed kindergartens, playgrounds. Everything will be rebuilt,” Draghi told reporters, after strolling through the destroyed streets of Irpin alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the Romanian President, Klaus Iohannis.

“A lot of what (Ukrainians) have told me is about reconstruction,” Draghi continued, referring to “hope” for “what they want to do in the future.”

Draghi is visiting Ukraine in a delegation that includes the German chancellor and the French and Romanian presidents.

French President Emmanuel Macron said today, during his visit to Irpin, that Ukraine “must be able to resist and to win” and assured that France is on the side of the Ukrainians.
