The balance

The two teams have faced each other 44 times in their history. The record speaks very narrowly for Fortuna, who was able to triumph 18 times.

The FCSP won 17 times and there were nine draws.

The last duel

The last duel to date was the first leg of the current season. On December 11, the two teams drew 1-1.

Marcel Hartel (26) had put the Kiezkicker in the lead before ex-St. Paulians Rouwen Hennings (34) equalized for Dusseldorf.

After an outstanding first half of the season and the autumn championship, the brown and white gambled away promotion in the second half of the season. Hamburg have now been waiting for a win for six games (three draws/three defeats).

Things are very different with the Fortunes: the Düsseldorfers have not lost since coach Daniel Thioune (47) took office in February. From twelve games they got six wins and six draws.

That’s what the coaches say

FCSP coach Timo Schultz (44) via Dusseldorf: “It’s a very homogeneous squad, with a lot of quality in every position and they also work very well as a team. They have solutions with the ball and are extremely compact off the ball. The squad is excellent and in my opinion one of the best in the league.”

Fortuna coach Thioune via St. Pauli: “Timo Schultz is doing a great job, FC St. Pauli was one of the best teams in 2021. We are expecting a team that wants to say goodbye to its fans. In terms of quality, something is coming our way. Overall, the path of the FC St. Pauli an extremely positive one.”

Player to watch

For Fortuna goalscorer Hennings it is a return to the old place of work. Between July 2008 and January 2012, the 34-year-old played 77 games for the Kiezkicker, in which he scored twelve goals and six assists.

At the end of the 2009/10 season, Knipser was promoted to the Bundesliga alongside fellow player Schultz.

How many spectators are allowed in the stadium?

At the last game of the season, the Millerntor Stadium should be sold out again and with be filled with 29,546 spectators.
