Chemnitz – In the middle of the after-work shopping, the Roter Turm gallery had to close Chemnitz to be evacuated on Tuesday evening.
At around 7:15 p.m., employees and customers had to leave the building as quickly as possible. The reason for this was the triggering of a fire alarm, as the Chemnitz fire brigade confirmed to TAG24.
“The cause of the triggering of the fire alarm system is not yet known,” said a spokesman for the fire department.
However, TAG24 found out: According to a witness statement, an electrical distributor smoked. This probably set off an alarm.
Apparently nobody was injured.
