Flanders wants to take in 60 vulnerable children

State Secretary for Asylum and Migration Sammy Mahdi (CD&V), in collaboration with the Flemish Minister of Family Wouter Beke (CD&V), wants to take care of 60 vulnerable children from Ukrainian youth care in the short term. Mahdi told VTM Nieuws that on Sunday afternoon.

State Secretary Sammy Mahdi announced on VTM Nieuw that Flanders wants to take in vulnerable children between the ages of 3 and 12 from Ukraine. This will take place in collaboration with the Flemish Minister for the Family Wouter Beke and the Ukrainian authorities. The best possible solution and guidance for these children will then be sought.

Once the Ukrainian authorities have given their approval, the 60 children in Flanders will be taken care of in different host families in collaboration with the Flemish Agency for Growing Up and Foster Care.
