The American rock band Foo Fighters has announced the sudden death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins via Twitter. The reason for his death is not yet known. Hawkins was 50 years old.

“The Foo Fighter family is heartbroken at the tragic loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins. His musical spirit and infectious laugh will stay with us forever. Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy is treated with the utmost respect during this unimaginably difficult time,” the band wrote on Twitter.
Hawkins was found dead Friday in a hotel room in Colombia’s capital Bogota, according to the Los Angeles Times. The band was supposed to perform there Friday night. The cause of his death was not disclosed
