Two Saxon musicians turn their backs on the winter weather at the end of November and say goodbye to a cruise ship for almost a month.
Chemnitz/Jamaica – if Saxony slowly sinking into snow and ice, two Saxons enjoy the sun of the Caribbean.
Rod Stewart impersonator Mr. Rod (36) from Crimmitschau (Zwickau district) and the Chemnitz musician and “The Voice” candidate Mazze Wiesner (38) sing and play for four weeks on the TUI cruise ship “Mein Schiff”.
On November 28, it’s “cast off” on the island of Jamaica. The two musicians will travel to Colombia via Mexico until December 23rd. “Of course it won’t be a relaxing trip for us. We play on board every evening and entertain the 2,800 guests unplugged,” says Marco Wölfer, alias Mr. Rod.
But the Saxons will also experience a Caribbean feeling. On land, concerts are planned in Costa Maya (Mexico), Puerto Limon (Costa Rica), Colón (Panama) and Cartagena (Colombia).

“Of course we’re looking forward to the warmth, palm trees and dream beaches,” says Mr. Rod, who is packing his swimming trunks as well as his guitar.
On October 28th, Mr. Rod returns to the heart of Saxony and performs Rod Stewart’s great hits in the Stadthalle. “I’m looking forward to Chemnitz just as much as I’m looking forward to the Caribbean,” says Wölfer with a wink.
