The governor of Sao Paulo, Rodrigo Garcia (PSDB), will hold eight meetings with councilors from the interior to expand support for its reelection project to Palácio dos Bandeirantes this year.
The first meeting will be this Saturday, with councilors from Bauru affiliated to the 10 parties that make up Garcia’s coalition. The governor also plans to meet with politicians from cities in the regions of Campinas, Baixada Santista, Vale do Ribeira, Araçatuba, Ribeirão Preto, Vale do Paraíba and Alto do Tietê.
The idea is, according to Garcia, “to discuss with the municipal legislature about the importance of the role of each one in the development of São Paulo”. In a recorded video, Garcia called out to regional leaders.
Not all cities to be visited are toucan strongholds. In Bauru, for example, Mayor Suellen Rosin is a Bolsonarian and will support Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) for the government.
Garcia’s coalition brings together the PSDB, União Brasil, MDB, Podemos, Citizenship, Solidarity, PROS, Avante, Patriota and the PP.
