Gianluigi Donnarumma was brought in at PSG after his European title with a big drum. But Keylor Navas did not just let himself be drummed aside, as a result of which both goalkeepers took turns in goal. This situation is gradually becoming untenable in Paris. “I don’t believe there will be another season when Navas and I will share the role of first goalkeeper,” said Donnarumma, who has often been looking for his best form this season. “It was not an easy start. It’s my first time playing outside of Italy. That required a lot of adjustments. I know I can do better. That’s why I was only halfway between the posts. That was a bitter pill to swallow. Fortunately, I received a lot of support from the club.”
Donnarumma and Navas get along well, but a choice is forced. “We have solved it well between ourselves so far, but I don’t believe there will be another season where we share the job. The club will have to make choices. I definitely want to stay next year.”
Navas previously had to make way for Thibaut Courtois at Real Madrid.
