GN agents donate blood in León on World Donor Day

Leon, Guanajuato.- In the World Blood Donor Day, this Tuesday, June 14, 80 agents of the National Guard (GN) they went to Blood Bank of the High Specialty Medical Unit (UMAE) Specialty Hospital No. 1 of the IMSS to donate blood, in Lion.

The IMSS reported that 80 elements of the 12 Irapuato Military Police Brigadebelonging to the National Guardsupported under the slogan “Donating blood is an act of solidarity, join the effort and save lives”.

“The objective of the commemoration is to raise awareness in the general population about the need to have blood and its products sufficient and safe for transfusion therapy, emphasizing the crucial contribution made by voluntary blood dispensers,” said the head of the blood bankof the UMAE No. 1, of the IMSSdoctor Felipe de Jesus Herrera Gomez.

All blood donation processes, from admission, registration, medical examination and the donation itself, are carried out under strict biosafety protocols to avoid contagion of COVID-19 and other diseases among the beneficiaries and the workers of the IMSS.
