He connects generations: Rock icon and Tabaluga inventor Peter Maffay is motivated to hunt for talent at “The Voice of Germany”.
Unterfoehring – From Tutzing to the buzzer chair: Rock icon Peter Maffay (72) is looking forward to the coming season “The Voice of Germany“.
Together with – or better: against – Silbermond front woman Stefanie Kloß (37), Rea Garvey (49) and Mark Forster (39), the 72-year-old tries to win the most promising gold throats for himself and as a team.
“I’ve always admired how many great talents choose ‘The Voice of Germany’ as a stepping stone into a career as a musician,” said the old rocker a few weeks before the start of the twelfth season.
“I think it’s great that I might be able to help with this, together with my colleagues. I’m looking forward to good music in good company and lots of interesting encounters,” says Maffay.
First Dates: When she finds out about his hobby, she gasps loudly
ProSiebenSat1 broadcaster Daniel Rosemann sees the cult musician as a perfect cast for the show: “Just like ‘The Voice’, our new coach Peter Maffay connects generations: children grow up with Tabaluga. Adults rock at his concerts.”
In addition, the singing competition is going back to its roots. As at the start in Germany, the format will again run on Thursdays on ProSieben and on Fridays on SAT.1 from August
The show, which can be followed on the second screen under the hashtag #TVOG, is moderated by Melissa Khalaj (32) and Thore Schölermann (37).
