The organization of Graspop Metal Meeting released 103 new names for next year’s edition on Thursday. Disturbed, Hollywood Vampires (with Johnny Depp), In Flames, Rancid and Pantera, which is returning after 20 years of inactivity, are on the bill, among others.
Graspop will take place in 2023 from 15 to 18 June, so again for four days. The festival previously announced headliners Slipknot, Def Leppard, Mötley Crüe, Parkway Drive, Ghost and Gojira. Only on Thursday and Friday is a co-headliner missing. The presale starts Saturday at 10 am via ticketmaster.be.
Metal fans can therefore look forward to the reunion of Pantera, with singer Phil Anselmo and bassist Rex Brown. The band last played live in 2001 and lost guitarist “Dimebag Darrell” Abbott (murder) and his brother Vinnie Paul (illness).
Other well-known names from the harder genre coming to Graspop are In Flames, At The Gates, Cradle of Filth and Arch Enemy. Also notable is the arrival of Hollywood Vampires, the supergroup of Alice Cooper, Joe Perry and actor Johnny Depp.
In the field of hardcore, rock and punk rock, Graspop has already signed up a number of sounding names. The Californian punk band Rancid, for example, but also Papa Roach, Danko Jones, Anti-Flag, Less Than Jake and The Chats will drop by. Of the 103 bands announced on Thursday, 41 will make their debut in Dessel.
