Guinea: start of largely boycotted national conferences

In Guinea, the “National Assizes” were launched on Tuesday in Conakry by the president of the transition, Colonel Mamady Doumbouya. The meeting was boycotted by several political and civil society leaders in the country. Explanations with Malick Diakité, our correspondent in Conakry.

The former leader of an anti-balaka armed group, Maxime Mokom, appeared on Tuesday for the first time before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, which would have been committed in the Central African Republic in 2013 and 2014.
