In addition to Claudecir, military police officer Álvaro da Silva Prates, 58, died in the accident.
Cyclist Claudecir Alves dos Santos, 42, one of the victims of the traffic accident, which ended in two deaths on Friday, was watched over by friends and family this morning at the house of his mother, Jerônima Alves dos Santos, 64, in Jardim Noroeste, in Campo Grande.
Claudecir was the youngest of three children. His mother said that she hadn’t given her son a hug for 4 months and was waiting to miss him yesterday, on Mother’s Day. Because of the day-to-day rush, the two spoke only by video call. “He was very sweet,” she said.
During her son’s wake, Jeronima recalled that Claudecir was born prematurely, weighing just over 1 kg, fought hard for life and was a warrior. “I was fighting, giving milk, until he arrived. He was one of the sons who helped me the most,” she said. Now, who will take care of the three children left by Claudecir will be Jeronima.
For Wlaker, an Accounting Sciences academic, grandson also raised by Jeronima since he was little, his uncle was a hard worker, he used to cross town to go to work. When he was involved in the accident, for example, he was returning home after another journey, in Vila Marcos Roberto. “He spared no effort to take care of the family. He was very loving, playful. I considered him like a father. We only have good memories of him”, he highlighted.
During the interview, Wlaker made a point of sending a message to the family of military police officer Álvaro da Silva Prates, 58, who also died in the accident. “I read in the articles published by Campo Grande News what he meant to his family. My uncle also meant a lot to us. I want to send a big hug and our condolences to the police officer’s family,” he said.
Claudecir’s burial is scheduled for 2 pm, at the Park Monte das Oliveiras Cemetery.
