“I have ambitious goals and only one career,” said the keeper, who was also outstanding on Saturday. With the exception of three years at TSV 1860 Munich, Ortega has played for DSC since he was young.

“I think that’s his right. He wants to play at the highest level,” said teammate and attacker Janni Serra (24) understandingly. Interim coach Marco Kostmann (56) does not see Ortega at the end of his development.

It is still unclear where the outstanding goalkeeper will go. “I’ll now take my time to see what exactly is concrete,” said Ortega.

In transition, the club is also on the coaching position. Kostmann is over after the season.

According to Sky, the long-standing Bayern professional Martin Demichelis (41, currently training the second team in Munich) is a hot candidate.

According to the Neue Westfälische, Enrico Maassen (38), currently coach of Borussia Dortmund II, should also be among the narrower group of candidates.

On the other hand, DSC record scorer Fabian Klos (34) still has one season left, as the club surprisingly announced on Friday afternoon.

The beefy attacker suffered a serious head injury in the game against VfB Stuttgart in April and spoke of a “heart’s decision” on Saturday.

To a fan ovation, Klos added: “If we fall on our face, we’ll all get back up together.”
