Iran nuclear talks: the last chance round

After several months of deadlock, negotiations between Iran and the major powers resumed on Thursday August 4 in Vienna under the aegis of the European Union in the hope of saving the agreement on the Iranian nuclear program. According to the Iranian press, the major obstacles to the outcome of the talks would have been removed before the start of this new round of talks.

According to the reformist newspaper Shargh, the Russian representative in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, expressed the hope that “it will be[it] the last round of negotiations”.

“We are very close to the finish line and must concentrate our efforts to achieve a positive outcome.”

On his side, the reform newspaper Etemaad assuredquoting a European official, that one of the important demands of the Islamic Republic has been met.
