According to local media, the densely populated neighborhoods of Al-Rimal, Al-Fakhari in Khan Yunis, the city of Beit Lahia and Khan Yunis were bombed.

Among the deceased is a five-year-old girl. Several media indicate that another fatality was a commander of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (YIP), Tayseer al-Jaabari.

Israeli artillery hit points in the north and east of the Strip, while tanks fired on targets near the northern cities of Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun. They caused severe material damage, but no casualties.

In a statement, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) claimed that they initiated the airstrikes following threats made by the IIP and directed them against what they called “terrorist targets.”

Days ago, the group announced that it would respond to the arrest by Israeli security forces of one of its leaders, Bassam al-Saadi, perpetrated in the city of Jenin, in the occupied West Bank. The arrest caused strong protests from Palestinians.

At the time these attacks were launched, the Government of Israel continued to increase the blockade on the Gaza Strip, which prevents the movement of people, the departure of hospitalized patients, aid for humanitarian cases and the supply of food and necessary products.

In this regard, the Presidential Committee for the Coordination of the Entry of Goods into Gaza pointed out that Israel is blocking the Kerem Shalom crossing, through which the fuel is transported, which threatens the work of the only power plant in the Strip and the electricity supply to the population and basic services.
