Scientists from the Japan Institute of Natural Sciences created huge solar powered cockroaches. They are giant cockroaches from Madagascar, which use a backpack that allows their mobility through a program.
The backpack has a polymer and lithium battery managed by a wireless module that uses solar energy. This backpack allows scientists to move the cockroaches around at will.
Using electrical stimulation, scientists can move, turn and control the locomotion of these insects.
This is not the first time that studies of this type have been carried out, which makes us think that we are entering the world of robotic insects.
