Football Challenger Pro League SK Deinze – La Louvière 2-1
SK Deinze closed the preparatory period with a fifth victory in a row. The Tigers won 2-1 at home against La Louvière, a team that plays in the first national. Jellert Van Landschoot, who signed for the 1-0, fully believes in a promotion to the highest football class. “I am ready for this new adventure”, says the ex-player of OHL and Lierse, among others.
SK had bad luck early in the game with a shot by Koné against the bar. In the quarter of an hour it was hit. Newcomer Jellert Van Landschoot scored after a long run and cross from Dylan De Belder. Shortly after the restart, De Belder hit the bar with a shot and his teammate Gaetan Hendrickx also had bad luck with a free kick that also ended up against the goal box. Halfway through the second half, Mamadou Koné doubled the bonus on a pass from El Bouchatoui. In the final phase, La Louvière managed to save the honour, after bad football by the new Spanish goalkeeper Adrian Ortola.
Promotion to Jupiler Pro League
The 24-year-old Jelle Van Landschoot went through his youth academy at Club Brugge and later played for the Dutch FC Eindhoven, OH Leuven and Lierse Kempenzonen. The Maldegemnaar was active last season with the Dutch Helmond Sport where he was good for thirteen goals. “Just like SK Deinze, I am very ambitious,” says the goalscorer. “My new club hopes to make the promotion to the Jupiler Pro League. I would like to contribute to this. I am ready for this new adventure. We will finish our first competition match on Sunday 14 August at the U23 of Sporting Anderlecht. I am already looking forward to this first official match”, concludes Van Landschoot. (Read more below the photo)
“Van Landschoot is a young player with experience in our competition,” says sporting director Adrián Espárraga. “He is healthy aggressive and always puts pressure on the opponent. This is the type of player that fits the DNA of our squad. He has made a lot of progress in recent years. We hope he takes another big step at SK.”
As mentioned earlier, Deinze attracted 28-year-old goalkeeper Adrian Ortola. He comes from the Spanish Girona, which was promoted to La Liga (the Spanish first division) in the past season. Ortola signed a one-season deal with the Tigers with an option for an additional year. He has to compete under the bar with the other Spanish newcomer Ignacio Miras Blanco. That fight started quite stiff for him, knowing that the only goal against La Louvière was due to his poor defense.
