The president’s granddaughter Joe Biden, Naomi Bidenand her fiancĂ©, Peter Nealthey were married on Saturday in what was the 19th wedding at the presidential mansion.

A large number of white folding chairs occupied part of the south lawn, and the South Portico of the White House, facing the garden and with the Washington Monument in the distance, was decorated with wreaths and garlands of white flowers. Naomi Biden, 28, is a lawyer in Washington. His parents are Hunter Biden, son of President and First Lady Jill Biden, and Kathleen Buhle, Hunter’s first wife.

Neal, 25, of Jackson Hole, Wyoming, recently graduated as a lawyer from the University of Pennsylvania and works for the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington. His parents are doctors Mary C. and William “Bill” C. Neal of Jackson Hole.

The couple, who have been living in the White Housemet through a mutual friend four years ago in New York City and has been together ever since, reported the White House. Neal proposed to Naomi Biden in September 2021 near her childhood home of Jackson Hole wearing a ring adapted from her grandmother’s engagement ring, according to the White House.

After the couple officially became husband and wife, their families and guests took shelter from the cold inside the White House for the banquet, which will be followed in the afternoon by a dessert reception and dancing, according to a person familiar with the planning who is not authorized to speak publicly about the wedding.
