Julien Watrin finished fifth on Saturday in the 400 meters hurdles at the Diamond League athletics in Silesia, Poland. He clocked 48.91 and ended up at one hundredth of his own Belgian record.

For Watrin, Silesia was his last test before the European Championship in Munich, which starts on August 15. And it turned out to be a successful test, because he flirted with his Belgian record of 48.90. The victory went to Brazilian world champion Alison dos Santos in 47.80. In Munich, Watrin also runs the 400 meters in addition to the 400 meter hurdles.

Anne Zagré stranded in the heats in the 100 meters hurdles. She ran the twelfth time with 13.16. Her season best is at 12.95, her national record at 12.71. Zagré is also going to the European Championship in Munich. In the final, the win went to Puerto Rican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn with 12.34.
