For Kevin Borlée, that 45.12 is his best chrono in four years. This is the second European annual performance. His personal best is 44.56. For Dylan Borlée, 45.18, the third European annual performance, means a big personal record. That was at 45.55. He qualifies for the European Championship in Munich in August, which required 45.70. Kevin Borlée was already qualified for that European Championship. 44.90 is required for the World Cup in Eugene in July.

Jonathan Borlée ran a lot faster in his first 400 meters in three years with 46.00 than his best chrono in 2019, which was then 46.41. He set his fastest time in Bern on Tuesday since he reached 44.87 in 2018. His national record stands at 44.43.
