Charlles Henrique da Silva Rocha, 22, was found dead this Sunday morning (20), inside a cell at the Agroindustrial Gameleira Penal Center, in Campo Grande. The young man’s body was on a cement bed, with cadaverous rigidity, indicating that death would have occurred 12 hours ago.

According to the incident report, the man’s body was found by an agent from Agepen (State Agency for the Administration of the Penitentiary System), during an inspection in cell 115, in pavilion D, during the shift change, around 8:30 am.

The criminal police informed the police that Charlles shared the cell with six other detainees and entered the penitentiary last Friday (18), which is why he was in the observation wing.

What caught the attention of the agents was that during the inspection of the cells, no prisoner reported that Charles was dead. A different situation than usual, because according to the police, whenever a detainee becomes ill or dies, the inmates scream and beat the cells.

Preliminarily, the expertise found no marks of violence on the victim, but next to the body was found a plastic cap, a pen tube, a piece of cardboard and a narcotic.

The case was registered as a death to be clarified at Depac (Community Emergency Service Police Station) Cepol, as a death to be clarified.

Challes was facing two lawsuits for the crimes of drug trafficking and theft.
