The Piepmätze waddled over the L637 in the Brenken district on Thursday morning, as the officials announced.
Around 9 a.m., witnesses reported the chicks. At that time there was no trace of her mother.
The police officers collected the feathered animals, which were only a week old, and took them to the police station for their own safety.
“After initial care and a subsequent inspection of the guard rooms, the ducklings were handed over to the breed poultry club in Salzkotten-Scharmede, which is now raising them,” said a spokesman for the happy ending.
