With one more day of the national holiday remaining, a provisional figure of 29,650 tourists is the visitor log they arrived in Jujuy so far this long weekendwhich in turn is reflected in a hotel room occupancy of 89% at the provincial level and an economic movement of $423,337,175.-as reported this Sunday by the local Ministry of Culture and Tourism.

“This extra long weekend again it was a record in the provincewhere we receive tourists from all over the country, mostly from Córdoba and Buenos Airesas well as from neighboring provinces where a high impact of national tourism is maintained”, declared the Minister Federico Posadas.
The head of the provincial body referred to information compiled by the Jujuy Tourism Observatorywhich reported this Sunday that 96% of arrivals correspond to national visitors from Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Salta, Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, San Juan, Tucumán and Santiago del Esterowhile the remaining four percent were international tourists.
FROM SOUTH TO NORTH, JUJUY FOR EVERYONE
The official report also reveals that the Jujuy destinations most visited by tourists during this long weekend – product of the national holidays last Friday and this Monday – were Purmamarca, Tilcara, Maimará, San Salvador de Jujuy, Humahuaca and San Francisco.
In this framework, the region of the Humahuaca recorded a 95% occupancy hotel; in the valleys is from 85%while in the Yungas reaches the 80% and in the Puna is from 75%.
“Jujuy is chosen again for its culture and landscapeswhere more than fifty percent of the tourists who were this ‘weekend’ in Jujuy, had already done so on some other occasion”, highlighted the Posada Minister.
He also noted that tourists “are choosing us with stay overnight for more daysbeing the capital of Jujuy, together with the Quebrada, the destinations with the most occupancy”, he said.
The extra long weekend in Jujuy began on Thursday 16 June for the county holiday decreed on the occasion of commemoration of the bicentennial of the passage to immortality of the general post-mortem Manuel Eduardo AriasJujuy hero of national independence.
