This rule indicates that each province will receive this item, within the framework of the “Application of the Resources of the National Fire Management Fund”, to face, as an indispensable aid, to fight forest fires.
Since 9 months ago the province claimed from the national government what would be a sum of 61 million of pesos that Mendoza should have received this year under this law.
“Today the province of Mendoza, thanks to its own efforts and the administration of the resources that it has been executing in recent years, has been able to supply itself and prepare with the temporary hiring of brigade members, the start-up and repair of the entire vehicle fleet, investment in clothing, communication equipment and rapid action equipment to be able to go out into the territory”, thus they highlighted in a press release.
Even so, from the government they affirmed that the help of the national is essential to face this risk due to the high index and the large mass of fuel that persists in the territory that tend to further aggravate the situation.
Because a summer season with high temperatures is approaching, the government clarified that in order to face it with the least possible risks, it is necessary to have the funds, the infrastructure, the corresponding action teams and, fundamentally, the necessary air resources.
The item requested from the national body last March by the Province of Mendoza amounts to 61 million pesos to cover the aforementioned expenses and points. Among them, the opening and maintenance of strategic firebreaks, the consolidation of the airstrip in Monte Comán, communication equipment and rapid action backpacks, among other needs.
