Mexican authorities announced on Thursday that they had seized a truck with 366 migrants on board.
Mexico’s National Institute of Immigration said the truck was transporting migrants from several countries: Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Yemen, Uzbekistan, South Africa, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Bolivia, Peru, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador and Venezuela.
Agents found the truck parked on the side of a road in the state of Chiapas, which borders Guatemala. There were so many migrants that you could see legs dangling from the roof of the cargo container.
Migrants have been desperate to get out of Tapachula, another city closer to Guatemala, where they are waiting for visas from the authorities to head north.
