Of the estimated 32,161 thousand babies between six months and two years old in Campo Grande, only 79 were vaccinated against covid-19 within seven days of the released vaccination. Of these, 24 are in the priority group, that is, they have some comorbidity, the other 55 vaccinated only managed to receive the first dose of Pfizer Baby thanks to xepa.

City Hall believes that there are at least 1,600 babies in the Capital with any of the comorbidities listed as eligible for vaccination by the Ministry of Health. As the low demand was expected, the so-called ‘xepinha’ was opened since the first start of the campaign, on the last 12th.

Leftovers are applied to babies whose guardians look for health units at the beginning of the day and leave their names and telephone numbers. If there is any surplus, which will most likely happen, the team will contact you. In this case, the baby should be taken right after the call.

Each Pfizer Baby bottle contains 10 doses and, when opened, must be used within a maximum of 12 hours. So if any unit is opened in the middle of the day and there is not enough demand to use it completely, the immunizer becomes available to the xepa instead of being discarded.

Step by step – For those responsible for babies with comorbidity, the instruction is to register on the city hall website (see here) and attach a report proving the pre-existing condition. Then just look for a health unit and vaccinate.

This week the calendar follows normally. Vaccination of babies takes place from 7:30 am to 11:00 am and from 1:00 pm to 4:45 pm from Monday to Friday at the UBS (Basic Health Units) Dona Neta, 26 de Agosto, Caiçara and Silvia Regina, in addition to the USF (Basic Family Unit) Moreninha, Paulo Coelho Machado, Noroeste, Aero Italia, Santa Emília and São Francisco.

On Saturdays and holidays, immunization is restricted to UBS Dona Neta, 26 de Agosto, Caiçara and Silvia Regina. Also at USF Moreninhas. 7am to 5pm, no lunch break. The xepa works every day.
