With times of 2min17s and 1min33s, sergeant Simone Santos de Oliveira and soldier Marcos Antônio Marques, both from Mato Grosso do Sul, became champions of the “2nd Firefighter of Steel” and earned R$10,000 each as prizes.

The event held by the Mato Grosso do Sul Fire Department, this Saturday (7), in the events area of ​​the Parque das Nações Indígenas, in Campo Grande, brought together 86 soldiers representing 13 states in the country, according to Captain Pedro Paulo Barros da Costa. .

Wearing personal protective equipment, the competitor simulates the physical demands of real-life firefighting, performing a series of tasks, such as climbing a staircase of a four-story building, dragging hoses and rescuing an 80-kilogram “victim” for 30 meters, computing time within rules.

The competition seeks to stimulate the aptitude of military firefighters and demonstrate to the public the rigor of the profession. In addition to stimulating, training, improving and perfecting the execution of techniques used in daily life and physical conditioning, in addition to integrating military firefighters from other states.
