British restaurant managers and pubs complain that they are forced to rewrite the menu almost daily: due to the rapid rise in food prices, food prices only increase, and some items have to be abandoned altogether.

Famous people are excluded from the menu everywhere fish and chips – fried cod fillet with potato chips.

The cost of “fish and chips” has reached 24 pounds (1600 rubles). The owners of catering establishments do not consider it possible to demand an incredibly high price from visitors for a dish, a portion of which previously cost from 5 to 7 pounds, so they stopped buying cod altogether, 40% of which was caught by Russian fishermen for the British.

Cheap cod is not a sanctioned product, but the UK authorities have imposed a 35% duty on its imports. As well as salmon, which now cooks are forced to replace with mackerel in order to save money.

Beef has also entered the category of super-expensive ingredients, and where possible, it is replaced with chicken.

Even the most expensive restaurants are on a strict economy regime: when preparing soups and sauces, excess garnish is used, and bottles that have already been opened are served at wine tastings.
