The Stark family from Ottendorf-Okrilla in the offspring happiness! “We’re fine, everything’s fine,” said Mama Karen (40) happily on Thursday.
Husband Matthias (44) and son Jakob (5) also made themselves comfortable in their bed on the maternity ward of the women’s clinic (House 21) and both looked spellbound at little Jonas. “Well, he’s going to mix everything up for now,” says Karen with a smile.
So far this year, 527 boys and 473 girls (including 30 twins) have been born at the university hospital. In 2021, the 1000th newborn was about three weeks earlier.
Clinic director Pauline Wimberger (50) justified this as a result of the crisis situation after the corona pandemic, in addition to the parents’ cohorts with low birth rates.
