Palmeiras beat Juazeirense 2-1 and secured their spot in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil, on Wednesday night (11). The duel took place at the Café stadium, in Londrina, on the return of the third phase of the competition.

Danilo opened the scoring for Verdão, in the 41st minute of the first half. The tie came after the second half, when forward Nildo scored what would become Juazeirense’s only goal in the match. It was up to Raphael Veiga, in the 36th minute of the second half, to score Palmeiras’ second goal on the field.

ahead – Palmeiras’ opponent in the round of 16 will still be defined by drawing, after all 16 classified teams are defined. For the Brazilian, the team has a commitment on Saturday, against Bragantino, at Allianz Parque, for the sixth round of the Championship. The following day, Juazeirense faces Atlético-BA, in the Série D.
