Since it was announced, the Disney+ series based on Rick Riordan’s novels about the character Percy Jackson has caused great anticipation among fans of the literary work. In the last few days, the producers decided to officially announce who will be the interpreters of the protagonists Percy, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood.

These roles will fall, respectively, to young Walker Scobell (announced in April), Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri. At just 13 years old, Scobell has already joined the cast of Project Adam, from Netflix, released in March of this year. Jeffries was in the series Empire: Fame and Power (2015-2016) and relay (2018-2019), in addition to the films In Mira da Fé (2018) and PupParazzi (2019).

Meanwhile, Simhadri has been in numerous Disney Channel and Disney+ productions, including Just Roll with It (2019), spin (2021) and Twelve is too much (2022), along with animations from Nickelodeon and streaming Paramount+, in which he lent his voice to several characters.

Shrouded in great mysteries, Greek mythology, heroes, gods and monsters, Percy Jackson and the olympians must explore the routine of the children of the Greek gods – such as Hades, Zeus, Athena, Poseidon and Artemis – as they attend Camp Half-Blood, where they can all train openly and thus improve their main skills.

Grover, Percy’s best friend, is secretly a satyr, a half-human, half-goat creature in Greek mythology. The intelligent Annabeth, a natural strategist, is the daughter of Athena, while Percy is the son of the deadly Sally Jackson and the Greek god Poseidon. In theaters, the characters were played by Brandon T. Jackson, Alexandra Daddario and Logan Lerman.

Although these recent lineups have been the subject of much criticism on social media, the author of the original work seems to be happy with the choices, especially regarding the age of the characters, which match those described in the books.

the footage of Percy Jackson and the olympians are scheduled to begin in the next few months in Vancouver, during the Northern Hemisphere summer. The production is expected to launch in the first half of 2023 on Disney+.
