Péter Márki-Zay: Orbán announces a fight

“The opposite of peace is struggle. Orbán is fighting to fight, we are serving peace, ”wrote Péter Márki-Zay, the candidate for prime minister of the opposition coalition, on his community page on Sunday morning. According to him, Viktor Orbán “has plunged the economy into crisis, and we are recovering it.

Orbán is corrupt, so he does not receive EU support, we will break down the corruption and bring home the EU funds due to Hungarians. Peace instead of fighting, wage increases instead of price increases, EU money HUF 1.5 million per person instead of corruption

The politician wrote in his post.

On Saturday, Péter Márki-Zay asked his opposition sympathizers to convince at least three, yet uncertain, acquaintances in the last week before the election. The prime ministerial candidate for the opposition parties summed it up in three points in the post by asking his supporters what to tell their acquaintances.

In his opinion, people need to be convinced of:

  • Prime Minister Viktor Orbán “Vladimir Putin’s man”, Hungary must belong to the West and change government.
  • Viktor Orbán cannot solve the livelihood crisis, “because he caused it”, and instead of raising prices, he needs to raise wages and pensions.
  • The union no longer gives money to the head of government, only a new government can “bring home the one and a half million support due to every Hungarian”.

He writes about the campaign, they knew it was a difficult course for the opposition, because “the government’s campaign is being helped a lot by state funds, on the instructions of Viktor Orbán”.

The politician says they were able to access barely two thousand poster places because the poster companies are canceling orders one after the other. Meanwhile, Fidesz has at least ten times as many poster spaces for its own campaign alone, not to mention government information or a poster campaign funded by public money that “scares” non-changing surgeries, the prime minister said.

According to him, the TV market was also dominated by the power so that the opposition’s position could only appear on TV channels a few times a day. Meanwhile, “lies of government propaganda affecting the opposition” are repeated several times a day on public television and in “fideszated TV”, Péter Márki-Zay stated.

He also mentioned that it is much harder to fly than ever before, because distributors in the capital and in Budapest are constantly canceling orders due to “presumably Fidesz threats from different places”. He added that the government also dominates the online space through its multiple sources, MTI reported.
