northwood – Successful rescue operation! Federal police officers brought three kittens from a dangerous situation to safety in the district of Cuxhaven (Lower Saxony).
The officers drove their patrol car along the railway line from Cuxhaven to Bremerhaven. At around 10:15 a.m. at the level crossing in Nordholz over the Rottland road, they discovered a small cat’s head sticking out of the cover of a cable duct, the police said.
When officers looked closer, they found a total of three kittens, anxiously snuggling together and calling for their mother.
While the patrol was still organizing the accommodation of the found animals, another police car arrived. The Nordholz police had been alerted to small cats on the track and were pleased that the job was already done.

According to the descriptions, the young animals in particular are trusting and could have had contact with humans. The police do not rule out that there are other kittens in the litter.
