A puma cub was rescued at a farm in Iguatemi, 412 kilometers from Campo Grande. The animal, apparently with seven months of age, was weakened and was found cornered by the dogs of the rural property, yesterday (16).
According to the PMA (Environmental Military Police), a farm employee managed to lasso the animal and place it in a wire basket.
The PMA team from Mundo Novo went to the scene and found that the puma is a male cub, was malnourished and without injuries. It is believed that he was left by his mother and was unable to hunt alone, starving.
The puppy was collected, hydrated and fed. Afterwards, he was taken to the Green Farm CO2 Free farm, located in Itaquiraí, 405 kilometers from Campo Grande, which has a Cras (Wild Animals Rehabilitation Center) that helps PMA in rescuing animals.
According to the PMA, the leopard will be accompanied by the farm’s veterinarian, available to technicians at Cras de Campo Grande, a center that will decide whether to remove the cub to the Capital or rehabilitate it at Green Farm until release.
