Four people were injured in a fire in an apartment building in Naumburg on Monday evening.

According to the police, the fire broke out around 8 p.m. in the attic of an apartment building on Weißenfelser Straße.

Of the four injured, two people are said to have suffered serious injuries.

Alarmed rescue workers evacuated the building. Local residents helped with the rescue.

The two seriously injured were taken to a hospital in Halle (Saale) with the help of a rescue helicopter.

Weißenfelser Straße had to be closed in the course of the extinguishing work.

According to information from TAG24, the house is currently not habitable. Almost 100 people had to be evacuated.

The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire. However, these should still be at the beginning.
