The increase is with respect to what was granted in 2019, prior to the coronavirus. It will be a total of €43.6 million to be distributed among all those who manage to participate. Those who will benefit most from this decision are the tennis players who play the classification and the first round of Roland Garros. Those who dispute the first round of the preliminary phase will win €14,000. Earning your spot in the main draw will earn you €31,000.

From the organization of the event, they stressed the importance of this decision. They emphasized that it will be a “help” for lesser-known tennis players who have suffered during the Covid-19 pandemic. Since they were the ones who had the greatest difficulty staying active and competing.
