Television presenter Ruben Van Gucht (35) became the proud father of a son, Mondo Van Gucht, on November 8. Mondo was born on the birthday of his mother, the former high jumper Blanka Vlašić (39). Whether he will end up in the sports world like his father remains to be seen, but Mondo already appears to have ties with the World Cup in Qatar.

Mondo Van Gucht has an uncle who will compete against the Red Devils. Croatian Nikola Vlašić is an attacking midfielder with the 2018 vice world champions and is Blanka’s brother, 14 years younger.

But the World Cup started with a famous sizzle for Nikola Vlašić, because he got injured at the end of the first half against Morocco. With a firm grimace, he decided to continue playing after an injury treatment, but after the break Vlašić did not leave the dressing room.

In a club context, Vlašić plays for the Italian Torino, on loan from the English West Ham United. On December 1, the Red Devils will take on Vlašić and Croatia at the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium.
