Rune Herregodts lost almost eight minutes and lost the yellow leader’s jersey to Rota. Pozzovivo and Onley are second and third in the same time.

Paul Double, Tim van Dijke, Moritz Kärsten and Kristijan Koren accelerated after fourteen kilometers on the first climb of the day. The foursome started the second slope with a 3:35 lead. The riders of Sport Vlaanderen-Baloise, with leader Herregodts in their ranks, increased the pace in the large group and so the gap was gnawed. At the climb of the Solari, 75 kilometers from the finish, the quartet was still one and a half minutes ahead of the peloton.

Koren was the best and he disappeared from the leading group. In the run-up to the climb of the Bumbalka, only Van Dijke remained in the lead of the race, but the Dutchman also cracked and was swallowed by the peloton 10 kilometers from the finish. The last bump of the day on the way to the arrival place Pustevny turned out to be too heavy for Herregodts. The man in yellow left six kilometers from the finish. Lorenzo Rota had accelerated in the full final in the front. It gave him his first professional victory.

On Saturday the riders will travel from Moravska Trebovan to Dlouhé Strane for a 148.4 kilometer ride. Another solid mountain ride, interspersed with five slopes. The last is that of the Pod Horni Nadrz which continues to the finish line. The Sazka Tour will conclude on Sunday with the stage between Sumperk and Sternberk. This includes six climbs before starting the four local laps, each 7.1 kilometers, each with the slope Na Valech.
