Senegal defeated Qatar on Friday by three goals to one at the Al Thumama stadium in Doha, packed with African fans who supported the current African champion until the end.

A) Yes, Senegal gets an important victory that squeezes in Group A, where Qatar is the only team that has not added and that would practically be saying goodbye to their own World Cup.

The goals from Boulaye Dia (41), Famara Diedhiou (48) and Bamba Dieng (84) gave the Africans hope for the World Cup, while Mohamed Muntari’s goal (78) did not help his team to obtain, after less, the tie of his team.

The hosts could be mathematically out of the competition this Friday if Ecuador does not beat the Netherlands in the other game of the key. If their departure is confirmed, Qatar would become the first World Cup host team to leave their competition after just two games.
