Several people died on Tuesday in a shooting at a supermarket in Chesapeake, in the US state of Virginia, in the United States, according to local media, which cite police sources.
The perpetrator of the massacre died and, although the exact number of victims is unknown, a police spokesman indicated that it is less than 10.
The police were alerted to the incident at 10:12 pm on Tuesday (3:12 am today in Lisbon), when the store was still open.
Around 40 emergency vehicles have been deployed to the site, where a significant police operation is also deployed.
The authorities are asking people residing in the area and the relatives of those who may have been in the supermarket at the time to go to the local convention center.
Chesapeake is a city of about 250,000 people and is part of the Virginia Beach and Norfolk metropolitan area.
