A 61-year-old man was the victim of a coup on the morning of this Friday and lost R$ 4,300 when he accepted help from a stranger to withdraw money, in Jardim Parati, in Campo Grande. The case was registered at the Depac (Community Emergency Service) of Cepol (Integrated Center for Specialized Police).
At around 8:30 am the victim stopped the car to fill up at a gas station on Rua da Division and when trying to pay, the bank card machine had problems. He then left the car at the gas station and went to the nearby supermarket to withdraw the amount. At the cashier, the old man also couldn’t make the withdrawal.
He then went to a lottery shop in Division, but the store was closed. Upon returning to the post, he found a friend, who was talking to another man, this one that the elderly man did not know. The old man’s friend told the man about the situation, who offered to help.
The stranger asked for the card and said he would go to the nearest pharmacy to make the withdrawal, however, he did not return. The elderly man asked his son to block, but it was too late, the author had already made withdrawals, which totaled R$ 4,330.00.
The case was registered as embezzlement and will be investigated by the police.
