The 57 hectares that were occupied in Guernica during the pandemic will house more than 700 single-family homes.

The Buenos Aires government advances with the construction of houses in GuernicaPresident Perón’s party, in a property that had been occupied during the Covid-19 pandemic and that was recovered by the authorities.

The Provincial Minister of Habitat and Urban Development, Agustín Simone, highlighted this Wednesday the opening of envelopes for the public tender for the construction of 693 homes and stated that “it is the largest project that the Housing Institute has undertaken.”

Provincial Executive sources reported that in a first stage They are added to the first 160 houses tendered that will begin construction in the coming weeks, and assured that the urban project on the 57-hectare property provides for the construction of 853 homes.

“More than four thousand people will live in this neighborhood. A population greater than that of some municipalities in the Province. We are not building houses, we are designing a city,” the official explained.

Simone stressed that the housing issue “It is a widespread problem and if the State does not intervene it will be worse.”

“There are issues that the real estate market does not solve on its own because it targets very specific sectors that They benefit from the concentration and the low supply. That makes prices go up,” he observed.

Then, in statements to Radio Provincia, the minister maintained that “when we build a house, we released a lease and gained control over the real estate market”.

On the other hand, he referred to the second draw of the Buenos Aires CREA credit program, aimed at those who seek to carry out reforms, spare parts or extensions in their homes, by ensuring that “There is no such option in the banks and with a very affordable fee.”

“Each draw delivers 10,000 credits and has had a very good response. For this reason, registration is still open because a third draw will be held,” he stressed.

Regarding the forecasts of the 2023 budget in terms of habitat, Simone said that “The objective is to continue with the execution of houses and to maintain the pace.”

Namely, always have 10,000 homes under construction, with a construction period of one year”, he stressed.
