This Friday, The Government prohibited Iris Varela Rangel from entering the countrya Chavista deputy accused of corruption and violating human rights in Venezuela. The official is part of a list with people who cannot be in Argentina, which was established during the administration of Mauricio Macri.

As reported by the Migration Directoratethe vice president of the Venezuelan Assembly traveled from Brasilia on Aerolineas Argentinas flight AR1289 and arrived at the Jorge Newbery airport at 01:05 AM.

“The prohibition arises from the consolidated list of persons subject to designation based on resolution RC.30/RES.1/19 rev. I, approved by the Thirtieth Meeting of Consultation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs acting as the Consultative Body in Application of the International Treaty of Reciprocal Assistance (TIAR)”, indicates the Migrations statement.

The resolution, which was approved by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs in December 2019 in Bogotá, establishes “activate cooperation mechanisms, due diligence measures and other necessary procedures, in accordance with national legislation and existing cooperation mechanisms in financial intelligence matters, with a view to complying with the mandate contained in numerals 1 and 2 of resolution RC.30/RES. 1/19 rev. 1, of September 23, 2019, based on the attached initial list, of people associated with the regime of Nicolás Maduro”.
