The match against Jannik Sinner was stopped for a while when the spectator became unwell, but Stefanos Tsitsipas is in the last four in Rome

The Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas (ATP 5) has qualified for the semifinals of the Masters 1,000 tournament in the Italian capital Rome.

The fourth seed defeated the Italian Jannik Sinner (ATP 13) 7-6 (7/5) and 6-2. At the end, at the second match point for Tsitsipas, the match was stopped for about ten minutes because a spectator in the stands had become unwell.

The last opponent of Tsitsipas on his way to the final will be the German Alexander Zverev (ATP 3). He eliminated Chilean Cristian Garin (ATP 45) 7-5 and 6-2.

The 23-year-old Tsitsipas already reached the semifinals in Rome in 2019. The Greek will soon be one of the favorites for the title at Roland Garros. Last year he reached the final, in which he gave up a two-set lead against Novak Djokovic. (belga)
