“During our visit to Moscow, we were convinced that, despite the adverse conditions caused by the pandemic, Russia and Cuba have made progress in implementing bilateral projects in various fields,” Diaz-Canel wrote on his Twitter page (the social network is blocked in the Russian Federation).

The Cuban leader added that during the talks held in Moscow, the results of the recently completed 19th meeting of the Russian-Cuban intergovernmental commission were also touched upon. According to the president, “important joint projects have been identified that contribute to the National Plan for the Social and Economic Development of Cuba until 2030.”

“The importance of increasing Russian investment in Cuba, as well as the supply of food products and raw materials for their production, was assessed. Interest in expanding the Russian tourist flow to Cuba, including corporate tourism, was confirmed,” Diaz-Canel said.

Recall that the head of Cuba and Russian President Vladimir Putin took part in the opening ceremony of the monument to Fidel Castro in Moscow, after which the leaders of the two countries held talks in the Kremlin.

In addition, Diaz-Canel met with Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, and also addressed the deputies of the State Duma during the plenary session. The Cuban President also held talks with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’.
