The Senate approved the project to pay the IMF with funds from leaked dollars

The Senate gave half sanction to the project presented by the Neuquén Senate Oscar Parrilli, which aims to create a fund to pay debt with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) with a tax on undeclared goods abroad.

The initiative was approved by 37 positive votes against 31 negative, all of them from Together for Change.

What is this project about

With this half sanction that now will be sent to the Chamber of Deputiesit creates a “National Fund for the Cancellation of the Debt with the International Monetary Fund” point to form a trust with the contribution of 20% of the undeclared assets of Argentine citizens abroad, which must be paid in dollars.

If evaders declare these assets after six months when the law comes into force, the rate will rise 15%, that is, they will pay 35%.

At the same time, the figure named “collaborator”which consists in that “any individualwhether a human or legal person, resident in the country or abroad, acting personally or jointly, provide information related to a violation of the tax and money laundering laws”.

This collaboration will be rewarded with up to 30% of what is obtained from the information provided. The minimum amount that will be required to report will be 500 thousand dollars.

On the other hand, it was established that the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights of the Nation must create a program to guarantee the secrecy, security and anonymity of the collaborators.
