An illegal kennel with 22 dogs of different breeds was closed this Wednesday in the Villa Urquiza neighborhood. According to the Public Ministry of the City of Buenos Aires, the animals were caged in small spaces and, before the intervention of Justice, the owner of the place was accused of “omission of collections and maintenance in inadequate conditions”.

The prosecutor in the case, Carlos Rolero Santurian, entrusted the case to the Judicial Investigation Corps (CIJ) of the City Public Ministry, after receiving complaints from the defendant’s neighbors. After receiving the complaint, the police officers were able to check existence from the illegal farm.

The Specialized Fiscal Unit for Environmental Matters (Ufema), the Canes Division of the City Police and the Environmental Protection Agency participated in the procedure.

During the raid, police officers found more than 20 caged dogs in small spaces, with bars simulating kennels. Among the pets, 10 of them were puppies of the breeds bFrench Ulldog, German Shepherd and “Dachshund”.

The defendant’s word

The defendant, named Sandra, denied Have a kennel at home. “The truth is that I don’t know why the police came, I don’t have a dog kennel either.”, declared the woman to telenine.

In the same way, he pointed out that the police did not take any animals because they were in perfect conditions: “I showed them all the vaccination books with the veterinarian’s signature and stamp. I also offered to show them the documents of the dogs and they told me that it was not necessary.”

Despite his account, the truth is that the authorities granted him 48 hours to locate the dogs “Yesterday a friend came and she took a few babies, and so on. They are going to be located with friends and family,” she clarified.

Sandra explained that the number of animals she guarded increased because his son’s dog had puppies. Likewise, she clarified that she had two dogs per room and do not use cages or bars to take care of them. “It is not a fence, but where there are puppies there is a round kennel so that the mother is protected with the babies,” she commented.
