Pérez - Flies Añon meeting in Punta Arenas, Chile.

The Mayor of Río Grande, along with part of his Municipal Cabinet, traveled to the city of Punta Arenaswith the purpose of exchange management experiences with the Mayor’s Office of the Chilean town and progress in collaborative work between both cities.

In that framework, Martin Perez held a meeting with the Regional Governor of Magallanes and Chilean Antarctica, Jorge Flies Añon.

In this regard, the mayor of Río Grande maintained that “this is the beginning of a joint path of work and cooperation. A link that will allow us to promote the growth of both cities”.

Meanwhile, he stressed that “from this integration we are going to promote common actions and to improve the reality of the neighbors of both cities”.

Finally, the Mayor thanked the Governor “for the meeting held and his commitment to improve the relationship between both peoples”.

For his part, Flies Añon expressed “for us Rio Grande is our sister. Therefore, this twinning to bring both regions closer it is vital for deepen issues related to production, sports, culture, tourism, public works, among other aspects”.

Likewise, the Chilean official announced that, thanks to the good relationship between both national governments, “Work will be done at the border crossing to facilitate the passage of people and thus, the encounter between Chilean and Argentine brothers”.

By last, called to work together so that both communities move forward after the aftermath of the pandemic and remarked that “this twinning more than a political act, it is justice for our peoples”.
