Today, March 27, Russia celebrates the Day of the National Guard Troops. This is a professional holiday for many special forces soldiers who are currently participating in a special military operation in Ukraine.
– These days, the troops of the National Guard have a special role to play, and we celebrate our professional holiday on the march, in marching columns during a special military operation on the territory of Ukraine. The servicemen and employees of the National Guard stood up for the defense of the Russian world. We have been entrusted with a difficult but noble mission of fighting a regime that has lost its human appearance, calling for the physical destruction of the elderly, women, children, all those who speak and think in Russian, – General of the Army Viktor Zolotov, Director of the Russian Guard, addressed the personnel.
It should be noted that military personnel and employees of the department take part not only in the assault on the fortified positions of Ukrainian nationalists, but also participate in ensuring public order and public security in settlements liberated from nationalist armed groups, protect citizens from criminal encroachments and looting, guard important infrastructure facilities and life support, assist citizens in establishing a peaceful life.
– The Russian Guardsmen perform service and combat tasks to protect and escort convoys with humanitarian cargo and ensure security on transport communications. The divisions of the Russian Guard play a special role in ensuring the protection of important infrastructure and transport communications, including nuclear power facilities, including the Chernobyl and Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plants, as well as the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, said Valery Gribakin, official representative of the Russian Guard.
He noted that for the courage and heroism shown during the special military operation, many servicemen and employees of the National Guard were awarded state awards.
The department spoke about individual combat episodes in which the fighters of the National Guard showed themselves.
BROUGHT A HUNDRED FIGHTERS FROM UNDER THE FIRE
Colonel I. Masalov.
“In the course of a special military operation in Ukraine, a unit of the Russian Guard made a march to the area where the combat mission was being carried out. On one of the sections of the movement, a heavy battle ensued with Ukrainian nationalists. The column of armored vehicles was attacked from an ambush. An armored personnel carrier, where an officer of the National Guard, Colonel I. Masalov, was located, was hit by a grenade launcher, some of the servicemen were injured, and the equipment caught fire. Despite the concussion received, the National Guard organized the evacuation of the landing force and crew and continued to lead the repulse of the attack. Having suppressed several enemy firing points, I. Masalov organized the regrouping of his unit and the provision of assistance to the wounded. A noteworthy fact: during the battle, the officer, under fire from the nationalists, returned to the burning combat vehicle for his maroon beret, which was left there during the evacuation. Climbing into a wrecked armored personnel carrier, he found and preserved the symbol of valor and honor of the special forces of the Russian Guard. Thanks to the courageous and decisive actions of Colonel I. Masalov, it was possible to organize a rebuff to the enemy, withdraw about 100 people, a large number of military equipment from under fire and, having provided medical assistance to the wounded, evacuate them to a safe place.
CAUSED THE FIRE OF saboteurs ON YOURSELF
Police Colonel R. Tarasenko.
“Commanding a special forces group, police colonel R. Tarasenko, while performing a combat mission to force a river, organized an assault on a strategically important bridgehead. In the course of the battle, having called upon himself the fire of the main enemy forces, he opened the fire system in this sector of defense and provided the opportunity for neighboring units to advance in the main direction of the offensive. Despite the incessant firefight, he corrected the artillery fire, which made it possible to destroy the bandit group of nationalists and the arsenal of weapons.
COVERED THE RIVER FORCING WITH ACCURATE FIRE
Ensign R. Galyamov.
“A serviceman of the Russian Guard, Ensign R. Galyamov, during the assault on objects occupied by nationalist bandit groups, under continuous enemy fire, was the first to move to the other side of the river and, covering the movement of the personnel of the unit, ensured the possibility of capturing the bridgehead. Seriously wounded, sacrificing himself and remaining true to military duty, the special forces of the Russian Guard held the line to the last.
THE THREE OF THE DAY HOLD THE BRIDGE HAND
Corporal A. Danilov, R. Alykechev, senior sergeant D. Derbinsky.
“Rosguards senior sergeant D. Derbinsky, corporals A. Danilov and R. Alykechev held a tactically important line under incessant enemy fire for 24 hours. During a fierce battle, the special forces of the Russian Guard managed to suppress the firing points of the militants and repel the enemy attacks. Thanks to the courage and resilience of the fighters, the assault detachment of the Russian Guard took the bridgehead, freeing the territory from nationalist formations.”
REFLECTED THE ATTACK OF A GROUP OF DIVERSANTS
“Officer of the Russian Guard Captain Yu. Milanin commanded a division of the department on the march. Suddenly, the soldiers came under fire from the nationalists. From the first seconds of the battle, the special forces officer of the Russian Guard confidently led the actions of his subordinates and organized the defense of the military column. Even after being wounded, the National Guard continued to command the unit, acted bravely and decisively in battle, which made it possible to repel the attack of superior enemy forces. By decree of the President of the Russian Federation for courage and heroism shown in the performance of military duty, Captain Yu. Milanin was awarded a medal of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, II degree with swords.
